2012 Summer Term Course in Italian, French and Spanish

• All group classes start during the week commencing 23rd April  2012, and finish in the week commencing 3rd July 2012.
• All group classes run for 10 weeks from start to finish (no class in the week commencing 4th June-Half term for school)
  Each class is 2 hours, so the total learning time is 20 hours.
• All group classes cost £200.00

The purpose of this course is to discover a new language in an entertaining way.
Early
foreign language learning helps children to consolidate many basic concepts in their mother tongue, giving them a valuable educational, social and cultural experience, improve listening skills and concentration levels.

Learning
through French songs is an effective and engaging way for children to practice core vocabulary and structures, perfect their pronunciation and build new language skills in French.

Resources: We will use among others, resources developed by Sing in French, a dynamic Wimbledon company whose songs and musical plays were specially designed for Years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. They are newly

Tutor:
Elise has an extensive experience of teaching French to children. Elise is also a French professional language coach for singers, with a degree from Trinity College of Music and she is currently coaching soloists and choirs ( BBC
Symphony Chorus, Greenwich Theatre, Trinity College of Music) in French diction.

Method:

The method used is fun, dynamic and interactive. The emphasis of the course is based heavily on trying to get the children to feel confident and relaxed.

These sessions include activities such as dancing, singing, games, story telling, drama and various other activities that make the language learning easier and more understandable. The method focuses on participation by all the children.
